Germany will shut all Iranian consulates in Germany however permit the embassy to stay open in response to the execution of a German-Iranian nationwide, the international ministry stated on Thursday.
The killing of German-Iranian nationwide Jamshid Sharmahd has put “excessive” pressure on the connection between Berlin and Tehran, a ministry spokesperson had stated on Wednesday.
Germany has already recalled its ambassador to Iran over Sharmahd’s execution and summoned the Iranian cost d’affaires to voice Berlin’s protest.
